The quick release nut seems ok and has the notches (not sure what they’re called) but the frame seems to be stripped and my wheel keeps slipping out of the dropout.
Any idea what I can do? TYIA.

Forward facing dropouts really aren’t designed for quick-release wheels. I would recommend switching to a solid axle with nuts. It would be like $10-15 in parts plus labor

I would start by cleaning your drivetrain, any gunk between the skewer and frame will reduce its purchase on the drop out.
Is the skewer properly tight? If you can easily release it with the lever then it can go tighter, it should require at least some force to open and close the skewer lever. If you’re out of thread on the skewer and it’s still loose you may have the wrong size skewer for the wheel and frame.

You are using a cheap plastic quick release skewer. Get a good metal one, they cost a few dollars. Nothing is wrong, nothing is stripped.

That is a plastic nut. It’s for shipping only. You need a regular steel nut made for skewers.

Some sort of chain tug could help. eg Surly Hurdy Gurdy is designed to work with forward-facing dropouts.

If you’re using a QR skewer on horizontal dropouts then make sure they’re internal cams and not external:

Using a solid axle and nuts would also “fix” this problem, but if a good skewer should hold it in place too.
if you want to repair the dropout, use jb weld. i do this all the time for my carbon dropouts.
this is not necessary as the dropouts still look ok, u just need a better skewer
Make sure the contact surfaces are clean and grease-free.
Otherwise, [DT Swiss skewers](https://www.dtswiss.com/en/components/hubs-and-rws/rws) are pricey, but will work where others just can’t seem to get enough grip.
Is the QR spring backwards?
how does one strip a dropout? it’s just painted metal
Get a Dt Swiss ratcheting skewer. Will fix it
