    Building up my first MTB with a Fox 32 SC. Want to use 203mm rotor but wheel is a fair way from going in. What am I missing? Wrong adapter?

      Is the rotor getting caught on the edge of the pads? You may need to spread them if this is a new rotor.

      That’s a 160mm post mount isn’t it? You will need a +43mm mount, if that’s the case. It will be the Galfer SB001

      What is stopping the wheel from going in? If it’s just the rotor hitting the pads, you might have to just push the brake pistons open. (maybe you hit the brake lever while the wheel was out?)

      To do this, take the brake pads out then use something like a tire lever or anything that isn’t going to scratch up your bike and apply firm pressure for several seconds to each brake pad until it pushes back into the caliper. Put the pads back on, then install the wheel and pump the brakes a few times to get the pads to set the correct distance from the rotor.

      It looks like it’ll fit fine. It’s probably best practice when changing stuff to mount the wheel first, and then fit the caliper; the new rotor may be spaced slightly different and interfere with the caliper.

      If you’ve been using this bike previously, you might need to push the pads in the caliper back a little so the new, possibly thicker brake rotor will fit.

      I am surprised to read that 203 mm fits to the 32 SC at all (not considering caliper).

      The largest rotor you can put on a step cast fork is a 180. Anything bigger runs into the step of the cast.

      It’s an XC fork, it doesn’t fit DH rotors.
