I have shimno mt66 29" rims and thinking of finally converting to tubeless. https://bike.shimano.com/en-EU/product/component/shimano/WH-MT66-R-29.html

I live in Finland so a sealant that can stand negative celsius would be a plus. What conversion kit and sealant would you recommend? Should I also order brand new tires to make the process easier. I have Maxxis ikon 29*2.2 on the front that still has plenty of thread. Maxxis Rekon Race 29×2.25 on the back that is pretty beat up. Thought of ordering Continental Race King Protections for both.

  1. First, tires are personal preference. The ikon and recon race is a pretty good XC’ish setup. I only ride Maxxis so I can’t recommend the continentals.

I personally love the ardent racers front and rear for XC but again I’m in the USA. They may not feel as good depending on the conditions there. (Side note: I’ve always wanted to go to that area. Norway has always been a dream of mine to visit.)

Muc-off works in -20c so that should work for you. Their chamois cream smells great and works just as good FYI.
