Also: you don’t need an expensive helmet to be safe. Even the cheaper Giros are coming with. MIPS and are really good. Don’t need to buy the best. Just make sure you have a lid on! Nothing <<<<<< any helmet << expensive helmet.

  2. Had a guy the other day that a helmet literally saved his life but he ended up shattering 2vertebraes and breaking one in his neck

  3. I saw at least one comment asking which helmet you own.

If someone out there is looking for a “safe” helmet, try this site. There’s a YouTube video they did talking about the process and how they derive the ratings.

OP, you Smith Mainline doesn’t appear to be rated. I wear a Fox Speedframe Pro MIPS rated #44. Doesn’t matter; any helmet is better than no helmet.

Of all the things I cheap out on to save a buck, a helmet is not one of them. Glad you’re safe, friend.

Price has no bearing on safety for the most part. People gotta stop parroting marketing.

I just cracked a Fox Proframe RS, with no injury. Took a massive header off a drop that I came up short for. I’m shopping around for a new one now, trying to find a color I like.
