I bought this bike used as a commuter. There's a crack in the paint. The actual section of the aluminum frame is substantial. Should I ride this until something falls off or do we think its just paint and it'll be okay. Its obvious the guy did a lot of riding in the wet as every hex bolt was seized and ungreased. Unfortunately it looks Scooby done.
That’s not a crack in the paint unfortunately, it’s a fatigue crack in the toe of the weld. It will spread rapidly from here to best not to ride it anymore! If you took it to a fabricator now, they could save it.
