I said, “Sure hon I can go pick up your new custom musical instrument, it’s only 5 additional miles to my ride home”. Then I carried my partner’s new instrument plus case on my back, since there was no way of fitting it to the pannier. Now I’m one of those rare urban sightings of someone carrying a weird thing while riding a bike.
