Hey I have this 1*9 on a bike I want to be a commuter, unfortunately I live on a giant hill and this just doesn't have the gearing currently to deal with that, how hard would it be to replace the cassette with a wide range one and what else would I need to do to set it up if I replace it?

You’ll probably need a new chain also, to accommodate the larger cassette. Do you know what the max size cassette is that your derailleur can handle?
What bike is this? Is that a Shimano Alivio rear derailleur? If it is the 3100 series it can fit by spec an 11-36T 9-speed cassette. But your bike may have an 11-34T, 11-32T, etc instead.
There is another way to approach this problem. If you have a 1x front you can change the crankset or chainring to a smaller gear, You need to provide more info about the bike.
