Jumping on the short crank arm fad mainly because on my new bike I’m pedal striking more than ever. Looking at 160mm after some research and measuring – and I don’t see a ton of reviews for Ethirteen Helix. Anyone have experience with these? Seems like Canfield are another good bet without having to drop $500 on other brands? Leaning towards Ethirteen superficially as the bronze color would look sick on my bike color scheme 🙂 I need a new bottom bracket BB92 anyway, so BB compatibly not a huge deal, HOWEVER I am curious if either of these options work with more commonly sourced chainrings (Race Face, SRAM, Shimano, etc…)

While I haven’t used their cranks yet, I love the Canfield frames I’ve built up.
Their Customer Service has been top notch. They are responsive via email and if you call them they pick up the phone and are happy to chat for as long as you may need.
I’m using trailcraft cranks that works with a 24mm spindle , quality and finish is superb and they are cheaper than 5 devs or other brands
I have been riding the Helix cranks for coming up on a year now on my Bluepig and they have been great, plan on running a set on my next build too. I do mostly tech, flow and some small jumps and drops. I run the 170mm arm and a 32t chainring am thinking of going to a 30t, also running their BB. I have had no reason to complain at all, in fact on my last ride I actually realized how little I think about them or mess with them, IMO that is a good sign that something works exactly as it should you just kind of forget they are there.
