There a guy with a neat old Mongoose that always removes his seat post before locking his bike up every day, so you could do that. You could also replace the quick release work and locking QR, or nut and bolt. Finally, some people with valuable saddles will take an old piece of chain and loop it around a seat stay and seat rail before riveting it all together (usually this includes shrink wrap to mitigate damage)

i stole someone’s seat once.
in college, i had given my stock mtb seat to my friend who had a hard plastic seat on his BMX. then his BMX got stolen.
later, i saw a BMX exactly like his with my old seat on it. i knew it was mine because it was the same brand and had a little nick on the back with the foam showing through. what are the odds? so i yanked it off.
my classroom had a view of the bike racks, and when the guy came out and found out his (my) seat was gone, i went out to confront him. he said he bought the bike off some dude. i didn’t give him my seat back.
since we knew what the guy looked like, the next day my other friend followed him back to his dorm. he went back later and saw the bike locked up there. he offered to cut the cable and take the bike back by my friend whose bike it was didn’t wanna do that. whatever, i got my seat back.

That’s a real bummer! When I used to commute to work in Philly, I cabled through my seat rails, had a penny glued to my stem bolt, secured pretty much anything someone might try to take off. The penny was bc one time someone had tried to steal my bars (and shifters and brake levers) by unscrewing the bolt – but were likely scared off. Make everything on your bike harder to take than the next bike down the line.

Sorry, lol, but we have this friend who used to bring his bike to tuition. Another of us, another friend, used to steal his seat everyday. Every goddamn day they fought over the seat till he got fed up and started bringing the seat with him inside. Frustrated, he took off a few nuts (obviously in a non-harmful way) from the bike until he was allowed to steal the seat again.
