I just rode past there a few days ago, seems like a big event but the roads are pretty decent.
Too many androgynous city slickers. Gotta keep the ammo shed secret.
lol. My friends live next to the rift route and they’re excited about it every year.
Some of them even play music for the riders.

I rode the Elephant Rock that went through rural roads, and a dude in a hummer was just going up and down a part of the route flipping everyone off.
Some people are just fuckin weirdos.

Yeah supporting the local economy in the off-season totally sucks for hardworking blue collar Americans in rural areas. Fuck cyclists.
Routt County property owner here. This is a small group of locals boycotting SBT due to the draw of crowds and overcrowding in town.
It’s less to do with the inconvenience on the days with road closures and more about protecting the town that non-locals have ruined.
I’m on one of the advisory boards of city planners working to figure out what makes most sense: moratorium on STRs, more LIH for townspeople that live and work here year-round, etc.
It’s a mess and I often get frustrated with the vision the town has for the future of the town.
The logical reason I can think of why – some racers leave their wrappers and empty bottles on the road as if someone else is paid to pick them up.
