So the mills frame has to be one of bmx best selling frames rn (for street riding). I mean so many people and pros are riding fiend frames. (Hobie doan, demarcus paul)

But why? Dont get me wrong I ride a fiend myself and am a bit of a fanboy for the fiend riders 😅. But theire frames are nothing special it looks like.

For example the mills frame (so many people riding that frame, has to be one of the best selling for street?). It has 2 gussets at the headtube and chain tensioners. Thats it.

Compared to the wtp paradox wich has a investment cast chainstay bridge, extra thick double butted tt, investment cast chainstay yoke, hydroformed top&downtube etc.
That frame looks like it has better technology.

The paradox is a bit heavier and more expensive. But thats the only downside I see.

Also sundays wave frames seem more tech.

So is all that tech just some marketing? Does it really make a difference?

  1. Just because Hoabie, DeMarcus, etc don’t have frame sponsors doesn’t mean they’re not getting hooked up. They could be getting frames for free or at a steep discount because they’re cool with the team or a shop, etc. And if not they could just want to be supporting their friends. Pros change out frames way more often than we do so they might not be as picky about if something is investment cast or has a 1mm thicker dropout as long as the geometry fits their preferences. You or I view frames as investments that we expect to last for years. Pros see them as just another consumable
