Warning, bike gore!
I reassembled my gravel bike after flying to Montana Las week. Went to ride today and my handlebars felt like they were slipping, especially when out of the saddle. No noises. I stopped to look closer and noticed movement at the stem. Took the stem off to see this crack in the steerer tube. Bike was assembled with a torque wrench and flew in a hard case with extra foam/padding.
Anyone have any experience trying to file a claim with TSA or Delta?

Was the case damaged? If not, I am not sure what you could claim.
My case was completely opened when I received it from Delta earlier this year. It had a TSA inspection letter in it, and the frame wasn’t packed the way I left it. Filed a claim with Delta and it was denied since the Thule case wasn’t damaged. TSA did an “investigation” and found they did nothing wrong in repacking it, but wouldn’t share their video evidence.
Filed a claim with my American Express insurance. Was approved that way for up to $1000 in repairs.
I’ve flown with my bike several times and fully believe the TSA took it out to inspect it and never closed the box.
File your Delta claim at the airport where they can see you box. TSA will need that info. Also save all your bag tags, and TSA will need a repair estimate.
