The bike is a 1984 Miyata road bike made for 27×1-1/8 inch wheels and I bought it from the original owner. He only used it during college and then it sat in a basement until last year. I got most of the parts either on sale or used. The wheels are Shimano RS100 which were on sale on REI for $131.19 brand new (although I took the decals off of them)! The tires are Specialized Trigger Pro and were on sale at my LBS for $38 each. The used crankset was $20 shipped, $15 for the chainring and $15 for the Altus C10 brake levers all from eBay. Oh the Specialized stem was also used from eBay. The handlebars were $25 locally. The pedals are from my old MTB and the cassette is 11-42 9-speed microSHIFT. The Alivio M3100 mech is shifted with a Sunrace friction shifter which has worked beautifully. The seatpost is an eBay special but was only $20 and gets the job done. I was fortunate the brakes had the adjustment room needed to do the 700c conversion!

  2. Damn that front tire is looking awful claustrophobic 😂 I’m impressed you managed to squeeze every spare mm out of those calipers and forks.
