I am not so knowledgable around bikes and I am dumbfounded on what I perceive are tears on the upper sides of my front mtb tires. I do not know if they are caused by me overdoing the tire pressure or just something compleatly normal that happens with wear and tear. Is this a problem or no?

It’s not ideal. Typically a sign of age, not wear. Is the bike left in the sun often?
Did you leave the bike sitting for a while? Rubber has anti aging chemicals in it that keep it from cracking like this if the rubber is used frequently.
The tyre is old and/ or deteriorated because of heat and sun exposure. Those cracks mean that it has lost its elasticity.
That’s a sign that the rubber is drying out and the tread is cracking/failing. It’s not a good thing.
Your sidewall is gonna explode at some point, most likely while riding
Not ideal but people are overreacting sayng its gonna blowout its fine
These type of cracks are usually caused by running too low a tyre pressure. Depending on the sidewall construction of the particular tyre, the structure may be damaged. If you demount the tyre and find rubber inside, the structure has definitely been compromised. Unfortunately lack of rubber isn’t necessarily true of the opposite.
