Is this some kind of square taper BB? There is a 14mm cap nut on either side, but it doesn't look like any other square taper BB I've seen. I assume they come off lefty-loosy, and then I use a square taper crank puller to get the crankset off? Thanks in advance.

Sounds like you’ve got it right, These bolts should just thread into the square spindle, revealing it once removed
Some spindles are externally threaded and use a nut like this one. Most are internally threaded and use a bolt ime. But yes, either way your regular crank puller should work just fine.

Yep, for reference this is what you are looking at. Instead of crank bolts, they use nuts. Was common on old BMX “3 piece” cranks.
