Energy misplaced. Maybe instead of riding in force next time go down and vote for the latest bikeways to be implemented. My town did and now, several years later, we have no need to “ride in force”
Make [create] safe bike lanes outside of the vehicles lane, there are some; but more are needed. Charge people through licensing their bicycles. Bicycles are another form of transportation using the road. Create them all over the state instead of cyclists using the shoulder of the roads, forcing vehicles to pass into potential oncoming traffic, especially on county roads. The current law is dangerous and frustrates many drivers. Comfortable/safe bicycle lanes outside the vehicle lane could be a huge calling card for Colorado.
The real tragedy is that a 24 year old is being changed with V homicide. A bike on a busy Highway is not really a safe place to ride. I wouldn't let my teenager ride it. Maybe the parents of the teen killed should be charged with neglect. The fact that the parents have a non-profit set up and are making money off this is shameful. Some money always goes to those running it. Here's hoping a good attorney steps up for the driver. No car driver wants to hurt a cyclist, but many cyclists are reckless with no accountability. A completely different lane with a physical divider.

Public easements are all there is for legal human movement regardless of means of travel.
