There is absolutely no way to tell whether your derailleur is broken from these two pics.
But it’s super obvious that the derailleur cable housing ferrule is broken and isn’t properly connected to the derailleur. Shifting will obviously suck big time.

It doesn’t look broken, but sometimes it’s difficult to tell from a photo, but the cable going to it is far too short. It should have a gentle curve to it.

That cable is a bit past it but if you are selling it cheap just point out that it needs to be repaired (new cable and housing) and stick to the price. Deore DX is a nice shifting derailleur.

The shift cable housing is mangled, and I suspect it was too short. If you want to fix it, you’ll need a new cable and a piece of housing that is a few inches longer.

The chain appears too long. Derailleur is folded back on itself too heavily.
