•1984 Fuji Touring Series III•
For a long time I have really enjoyed the older pictures of folks like Jobst Brandt riding pretty wild terrain on old Road touring bikes, and wanted to build up something similar for myself.
After some searching I came upon this all original Fuji, that didn’t seem to have been used much, but was pretty crusty.
I picked it up, and stripped it all apart. Cleaned up as much as the rust and crust as I could without going overboard on it.
I swapped out the bars to ones with a bit less drop and a bit wider. I had some DiaCompe brake levers to replace the dual brake levers that came on it. I switched up the chainrings, replaced the downtube shifters with some new DiaCompe bar end shifters from Velo Orange, as well as adding a VO Constructeur Rack, and Touring Saddle. Fresh rubber from Panaracer, and I have some MKS pedals in the mail.

Love your choices! I’ve got a Touring IV that’s one of my favorite frames I ever built up.
Really nice build. I appreciate the nice functional upgrades, cleaned cared for look, and still plenty of imperfections on the frame. Next up is a nice front bag and a Carradice out back.
