Great analysis!! I love the way this team has been playing the last years, but this one with Jokic was simply amazing. Answering your question, is hard to say that they are THE BEST ever, but they are in the group of the best ones, of course. I'm from Spain so my first thoughts are predictable 😂, but in my life I have watched another examples of brilliance: those late 90s and first 2000 Serbia, that 2003 Lithuania, Eslovenia in 2017, Germany the last year (and this one they lost the medals, but played so well too)… And before I watch basketball are those other Yugoslavia and URSS teams, even Italy ones. So much talent and good basketball in our European history ❤. Been in that conversation is the proof that they have reached greatness.

I don't think so. This team have some really good players, but it's not that deep. It's actually well led team, and that should be emphasized.
Yugoslavian team (also coached by Pešić), who won Eurobasked 2001 and World Championshim 2002 were much deeper. We didn't have Jokić back then, but Stojaković, Divac, Bodiroga, Jarić, Gurović, Tomašević, Radmanović, Vujanić, Drobnjak, Rakočević,…most of them in their primes.
Thank you very much on this video. Yes, we are proud on them. But let me just mention that Basketball is sport nr. 1 in Serbia. It is even more then sport here. It isn't. Jokic alone makes this team twice better than it is. It's not Spain from the 2000s either. It's FR Yugoslavia from 1995-97 or from 2001-02 (I'd go for the latter). There's also proper (SFR) Yugoslavia from 1989-91.

Team that never won major competition neither Eurobasket or World cup or Olympics. They are not in top ten probably neither top 20 year by year basis. Yugoslavia 1989-91 best ever by far, Spain 2006-08 distant second, than probably SSSR 1985-88. After it is for grabs between Greece 05-06, SRJ 01-02, Italy with Meneghin,France with Parker at peak 2013.

Yeah, if you don't know anything about 80s and 90s Yugoslavian Basketball when no one could beat Yugoslavia.
The current Serbian team is great and should have won the gold medal in this Olympic tournament.
They had it, but unfortunately made every possible mistake to bring the USA team back into the game.
Anyhow, in my humble opinion, judging by full roster talent (and nostalgy), the best European teams after the unified Yuguslavia and USSR era, were most probably the 1992 Croatian and Lithuanian nationals and the Serbian team in the 1995 Eurobasket.
They were all packed with amazing players of which some became NBA players before or following those tournaments lympic games and that were all at the top of European basketball at the time.
Just to name a few players from these two brilliant teams:
Petrovic, Rada, Kukoc
Sabonis, Marčiulionis, Kurtinaitis
Divac, Bodiroga, Danilovic
Honorable mentions go without doubt to some past national teams of Spain, Greece, and Italy – each had its moment.

I would say the best European team was Serbian team was in 2001 year when they won European championship, schooling literally everybody in every game with more than 10 points and then in world championship the following year they beat team USA and also won gold medal. At that time Serbian team had 10 players who were in the NBA and 2 very big guys from Europe where 1had 20 rebounds in game vs USA. I have watched European basketball for a long time and there were some really good teams like, Greece generation 2004-2006, Spain 2006-2014 this Serbian team atm but none were as good as Serbian (Yugoslavian) 2001 year team
