I honestly always wanted one of those late 90’s early 00 department store Mongoose bikes that had the full suspension frames. They looked so cool to me when I was a kid. I hadn’t even been to a real bike store before.
I eventually went to a real bike shop and got a Cannondale hardtail.

I bought a (re-issue) StingRay 30 years late (and that was 20 years ago so it’s now got a 50 year nostalgia factor). I ride it to the mailbox.

I bought a ‘97 GT Avalanche LE (I really wanted a Zaskar, but just couldn’t afford it as a kid) with my paper route money when I was first racing, which got stolen in college. I found another frame on Pinkbike and have a more modern interpretation of my old race bike back. I’ve got a small hoard of Rockshox and Fox forks to play around with just to have some fun with travel. It’s currently a 3×9 with disc front and V-brake rear, but I picked up the deal on the Box P9 group, and plan going 1x with it. I was digging through my parts bin and forgot I’ve got an old Shimano rear hub with their silent mechanism (sprag clutch) that I’d like to lace up. We’ll see what happens.
I have a 2003 Super V and a 1998 F2000. I lusted after Cannondales back in the day—and bought these two for that very reason. I am still weighing what to do with the Super (I worry it is a bit of a boondoggle); I like the F2000 as is—but it needs those old school Coda bar ends.

Yep. I bought a Mongoose Supergoose in 2021. Could never afford one as a kid, let alone customize it.
