i don’t know shit about bikes, main question how do i put front wheel on, im guessing i need to buy some nuts so i can fasten it. idk. He didn’t actually give me the bike he passed away and my aunt was going to take it to the dump, but i want to fix it up and take it to university. Any advice is appreciated 👍

You’re missing the front quick release skewer. They cost about $10. Any bike shop will have one to sell you.
As an aside note that bike is hiding some seriously nice bits. From back in the day. I remember reading mbuk back when i was a kid dreaming abput hope brakes etc 🤣
Those were [properly nice forks back in the day](https://www.bikeradar.com/reviews/components/forks/suspension-forks/pace-rc39-xc-fork-review). Pace RC39 – proper “handmade in the UK” jobs. Still good forks too, but they need a fair amount of TLC to keep them running in good fettle, but you can still [get them serviced by Pace](https://pacecycles.com/pages/suspension-servicing) to this day!
I’ve had many a pair of these over the years, going right back to the original elastomer models in the mid-90s. All of them were beautifully handmade and gloriously temperamental to own 🙂
If you do dump the rest, sell the fork separately on retrobike!
As the other person had said, you need the quick release skewer for the front wheel, it might be in your aunt’s house or you can get a new one. It will be a good idea to just keep and use the bike. Your cousin built it and there is some sentimental value for keeping it.
