I recently moved to the US and want to do some trail riding on the weekends. Nothing hardcore, just enough to have some fun and get some exercise. I would rate my experience level as an experienced novice.

I've never bought a bike before, last bike I had was bought by my parents when I was in my teens, so I'm not really updated on what's out there. Is buying a used bike worth it? Or would it be better to get a new more basic bike for the same price?

My budget is around $1K USD. And I found this bike online that looks good and has an xl frame which is a must. Is it a good deal at $1,200?

1200 gets you a new direct sales hardtail thats rather good to your door.

dont buy a 2016 bike. itll eat your money in repairs . don’t buy specialized bikes.

if you really want to go used, go much newer,
