Can you? Yes. Should you? Probably not. Usually things that are puffing up is because bacterial growth is producing gaseous byproducts.

  2. There should be a ‘best by’ or ‘use by’ date on the package. Secondly, if it smells strong/bad/wrong when you open it, bin it

  3. I had 5 of these (wcup) some time ago (not expired). Drank one, but didn’t quite taste right either, no issues, but threw the rest out. They’re expensive, but not worth getting sick over..

  4. That looks like an opportunity to become projectile diarrhea and/or vomit meat cannon. If you must consider eating them, open and sniff. If there is no off-putting odor, taste a SMALL amount. If no foul flavor, weigh whether it’s STILL worth the risk to consume them. Given that gell pouches aren’t supposed to bloat like that, I’d be super-hesitant. GI infections rarely end well, even in their mildest forms.

Are you at elevation? When I went to Wyoming I was at 5-6k ft at the hotel vs being around sea level at home.

All of my packaged stuff like shot blocks looked swollen like that. lol my unused ones deflated back to normal when I went home.

  6. Probably not that much more disgusting than eating fresh ones.

I know some of you love these things. And I hope you and your gels have a long, happy life together.

    But they’re gross.

  7. A little fermentation might make that SiS taste better. Not sure it’ll do anything for the nasty ass snot texture tho.

  8. Did they puff up sitting in your pantry or after driving up to a higher elevation? Pressure change was not a factor, right?

I wouldn’t eat anything that started going bad? Open it up and give it the smell test.
