Wow! I had this exact same lock 35 years ago. It’s not going to keep your bike safe in anything but the most theft-free places.
Anyway, when the lock is open and the numeric rings are in the right combination, the outer black ring which has a silver face saying Master inside it will “unscrew” about an eighth of a turn and then come off. After that you can remove the numeric rings and put them in whatever combination you want.
