Ellerker is a village and civil parish in the East Riding of Yorkshire, England. It is situated approximately 10 miles from the city of Hull.
‘Ellerker’ means a ‘marsh where alder trees grow’, from Old English alor or aler ‘alder’ and Old Norse kjarr ‘marsh’. The name was recorded as Alrecher in the 11th century and Alekirr in 1139.
The village church is dedicated to St Anne and is designated as a Grade II listed building. It was built in 1843 and designed by John Loughborough Pearson, in fact it was the first church of his to be erected. We have seen his work before in this channel’s other videos, most notably the fine churches at North Ferriby and at South Dalton.

Jamie what a beautiful place Ellerker is love all the little Becks near the houses and how clear the water is in the Becks the houses and gardens are so well kept and love the way the trees are grown near the houses so they get shade in the hot weather what amazing little church and so quaint inside the lest we forget soldiers what are places around places are in my mind a great thing l loved the grave with the anchor on it must have been a well known sailor, Jamie l loved the way your camera made the windows lighter inside the church the walk down the lovely footpath between the hedges was so lovely did you take the wrong turn down the country road has you turned back the playing field looked well kept Jamie l loved the way you gently touched the garden ornament to make it's head bounce the biggest weeping willow tree l have ever seen was that yellow car your dream car the castle wall around the house looks so amazing wonder how old the castle wall was was you tempted to see if the water pump worked looked an old one Jamie yet another amazing walk
