This will be my first frame up build. Gonna use it as a daily commuter (about 12 miles [19.3 km] round trip) and grocery getter. I'm debating between CUES U8000 vs the current 105 iteration, though l won't turn my nose up at previous model groupsets if it turns out the improvements aren't worth the extra scratch. Outside of aesthetics, how important is it for components to be from a matching group? Obviously a hodgepodge of components will still make the bike stop and go, but is there an advantage to having it all match? I'm also wondering if electronic shifting is worth looking into. I know Di2 would limit me to 1×11 if I were to go the CUES route. Other wants include a dynamo hub, suspension seatpost, fenders and racks. It's there anything I'm overlooking?

Electronic shifting is nice but according to Velotraum CUES is meh, so why not 2×11 XT 8050 or even a used XTR 9050 which can even be 3×11 if you can find a FD-M9050 somewhere?
As for suspension seatposts, not worth it IMHO. Had some of those, preferred either real full suspension or fatter tyres.
Apologies for the erratic posting. Someone pointed out there was sensitive info in my original post. To answer u/PobBrobert, I was interested in comparing CUES to a 105 groupset. I’m not necessarily trying to mix up components, I was asking more generally.
