My single speed that I got it for free not sure how old (someone who owned before painted over it) seems to be from 70/80s. I’ve got this bike for free With indoors trainer tire (on the back). Seat is super old but most comfortable I’ve actually had. It has coaster brakes but it’s most amazing bike I’ve had. Looking forward to change to a fixed hub and paint it myself (actually have done paint jobs before).

for free???? thats amazing! you cant ride it if it has a freewheel and no brakes though! I know this is a singlespeed forum but thats an incredible bike to get for free, you could put gears on this really really cheaply and literally ride it across a country or over a mountain range. How amazing is that?!

I got two coasters and love them both… converted 10 speeds! They both fly and break just fine!

I mean fixed is fun but bombing a hill on a freewheel bike is a blast. The most annoying thing about fixed gear to me is having to scrub speed on descents. Also hell yeah on the coaster brake action

I would put a front break on it. Relying on just one on a single speed is a litt sketchy. Other than that enjoy a lovely gift!
