Installed brand new shimano SLX drivetrain with XT shifter, hot waxed chain (about 50mi rode after waxing). Shifting is absolutely rapid but it's making those sounds which is worrying since the Shimano 12 speed is known for being one of the queietest drivetrains.
Should my drivetrain be making these sounds?

What noise? Why are you shifting then pedaling and not shifting while you’re pedaling?
That noise always weirds me out too. As long as the chain isn’t rubbing the derailleur or rubbing the next cog up, it sounds normal to me.
You should post a video showing the distance between the pulley wheels and cassete. Perhaps there is some sideways rubbing occuring down there… But that’s hardly the case if all the gears are working correctly too
