This Hutchinson Touareg bought used with tubes is giving me greif. I had a « pro » set up the tubeless but nothing but problems since. ..
Is the tire too worn? Other things: the valve unscrews with the pump (Lezyn ABS mini stand pump – I hate their screw on design btw..). The little green screwed on ring also turns a lot. Also I am told maybe the tape is at fault for constant air loss. Just riding gravel smooth dirt and pavement. The last massive loss as you can see was at rim edge ( tight turn on pavement w slight braking- I almost crashed..). I’m feel zero trust in tubeless/my ability to manage it. Should I just put in tubes for my upcoming gravel/tour?? I’ve lost trust in my damn tires!!
Sorry to rant but damn this is supposed to be fun.
When I buy new tires I want 42 or 44 but the Schwalbe Almotions only come in 40 or 50.

The tire isnt seated. The “pro” isnt a pro. Pull the valve and tighten the green nut as much as possible. Remove the valve core and inflate the tire with a compressor- gas station, bike shop, w.e. Then install the valve core back and tighten it with a valve core tool…something that “pro” didnt do that’s why it’s unscrewing.
By the looks of it you’ll prob want to add more sealant to that tire.
It looks like maybe the tire is backward, is that the front wheel

unless rims are dinged, tires must be poorly seated – hard to tell from pic. when a tire is fully seated youll notice a line that goes around near the rim and is concentric with it.
Man, you must use special tubeless sauce, not egg yolk! 😬

Like others have said the tire isn’t fully seated and the nut for your valve stem isn’t tight which might cause some leaking.
You don’t need to remove the valve core or use a compressor to make sure it’s fully seated. If it’s holding air well enough to pump up then just keep pumping it up until you can see an even line on the side all the way around just above the rim’s bead hook. With some tires I’ve had to go a little over max rated pressure to make them seat. Some lube makes them seat much easier and at lower pressure. There can be some loud snaps as the tire seats itself into the bead.
Switch to black wall tyres rather than the tan ones.
You might have a compatibility issue. First, make sure the set of tires you have TLR or tubeless ready. Some tires that come with bikes are cheap non-tubeless versions. Hutchinson has used UST tubeless in the past, this could be causing interface issues with the thin sidewall and hook on those dt rims. It’s hard to tell any of these things from photos, it would be best to have a good shop look into it.
Modern tubeless very rarely burps like that, I’d strongly suggest looking at some different tires.
If I had a dollar for every tubeless tire issue I saw here I’d use it to buy tube tires.
