Hey all, wanting to get into cycling and looking to purchase my first road bike!
I live in Los Angeles where most streets are a little hilly, lots of crazy drivers, uneven / poorly paved roads, etc. I do intend to drive out to smoother paths away from the city, but mainly will be biking around my local neighborhoods.
I’m 6’1” , 23 years old, 165 lbs. My LBS suggested 57-58CM frame – I feel like I still could do 56cm on some frames?
Most of my rides will probably be around 5-10 miles, maybe longer as I get more into cycling. Rlly loved the CAAD10 & 12’s I saw but I just don’t think its best suited for my intended routes.
Currently looking at:
2015 Cannondale Synapse 56cm w/ Shimano 105 – ($550)
Cannondale Synapse 58cm [not sure of year or groupset]
2022 Bianchi Via Nirone 7 57cm w/ Shimano Sora – ($500)
2022 Cannondale CAAD Optimo 4 58cm w/ Shimano Claris – $500)
[not positive if its actually 2022 / endurance bike even]
All that said, everything I’ve learned so far is from youtube and I really don’t know much so all input is appreciated!! Would be happy to hear suggestions for other frames & people’s experiences with the bikes I mentioned 🙂
