They recently added a note on their website that the track spider is only for short efforts 😂Â
Long story short, the blue locktite doesn’t hold the 8-bolt direct mount bolts in place (long term).
They will fail at some point especially if you do heavy efforts.Â
The only fix is to use red locktite. I went an extra mile and sealed the whole thing with resin.Â
Edit: To know-it-alls citing the website note and how Raketa only makes parts stricly for race-day applications (lol; cope harder).. my order is from 2021 while their new website launched circa 2022 after Russian invasion.
That said, apparently I’m very wrong and don’t understand how Raketa parts work.. they are designed to fall apart outside of velodrome…. my personal mechanic has to pull out the whole crankset to inspect 8-bolts after every velodrome effort..

It’s meant for velodrome use. On race day, riders and their mechanics are constantly maintaining their bikes after each effort of often just a few miles.
You’re using a part outside of its intended purpose. Don’t complain or hate on the manufacturer when it doesn’t work.

That machining on the back looks like absolute dog shit

get some jb weld and attach the spider to the arm. it eliminates any movement. can be removed with heat gun later on.

Loctite goes in the threads, not on the heads

Sram dub cranks are not made for fixed or track use cases. This adapter can’t change the problems that arise from using a component for something it wasn’t designed for.
Resin is an odd choice. Curious if that will hold up completely or get a tiny bit loose and then you have no way of retorqueing them.
