Canyon Garmin mount does not hold Garmin tight

I got the Canyon Garmin cockpit mount for my 1040 and while it works fine, it doesn't hold my Garmin securely. It's very easy to take out. It doesn't seem firmly locked into place.

I'm using it on a Canyon Ultimate road bike.

My friend has a Specialized and I tried my Garmin in his mount – you can feel that it firmly locks into place. I also tried the mount that garmin sends for round handle bars. It locks firmly into place.

Is there a better mount out there? Or is there a hack to get this to work better?
