Very dated bike. It far predates the 2010s and time hasn’t been kind to it. Didn’t become a cult classic by any stretch of the imagination and will be a pain to maintain. The fork is not a great one and the shaft standard is long outdated so no chance getting any remotely modern replacement for it in case this one goes bad, the brakes look like they desperately need a service or retirement, the drivetrain doesn’t look well maintained at all, etc… If I were you I would eirher save a little extra and look for a used Canyon Stoic for example (I got one for a friend of mine for ~340 USD) or keep looking until U find a better deal. Don’t know much about the NZ bike market situation tbf but this bike should bot be more than like 80 USD (or 135 NZD).
Without knowing the market in NZ it’s hard to say. Stateside I wouldn’t do it. Definitely not for any trails.
It looks like a low end talon as it has dual chain rings and external cable routing. It should be okay for a commuter but try to talk the price down if you decide to go for it.
