  1. Fox 34 factory kashima 140mm front, fox float factory kashima 140mm rear, sram x01 11 speed group set, sram guide rs brakes, giant carbon wheels.

Bone stock but has barely been ridden and is almost perfect shape, other than a dropper that wont go all the way up.

My first thought is to buy a more modern geometry frame, (specialized 160 float, i have a rockshox yari 160 and a 29 front wheel, id just sell the fox stuff and buy a rear shock) or should i just rip it??

I picked it up for $700.

I got started on a 2016 trance, and riding a more ‘modern’ bike now, I’ll say that I think that generation of giants design was right on the line of feeling/being modern geo(I remember mine had a 60mm stem cause they were still going for what they interpreted as all-mountain for the time). I appreciated feeling lower stakes in thrashing around an alu frame as I learned to shred around Santa Cruz.

  3. Ride it until it’s time to upgrade. 2016ish is when bikes started getting more modern geo, but I’ve heard Giant lags behind. I didn’t know Stance comes stock with that kind of suspension. It’s the entry lvl FS. 700$ is a decent deal and when your need to upgrade, you won’t take a huge loss or you can use it as a loaner

  4. Buddy I’m surprised you are asking about the bike after buying it. Lol

If it were me I would keep it. Only sell if you wanna do something specific like XC or downhill. Nice thing about this bike is that you don’t have to be super paranoid about something happening to it.

  5. It’s a solid trail bike, but 2017 era giants are when lots of new standards came in (boost, shock sizes etc).

If you’re wanting to ride steep technical terrain or do lots of jumping this bike might hold you back, but otherwise get out there and thrash it.

Also, while Keegan Wright was between sponsors he won an enduro round in Rotorua on this frame, I think it was around 2019.
