the wheel spins when i pedal backwards gently. is this indicative that the wheels are not as smooth as they once were, what should i do to remedy this?
does this freehub cassette bpdy require a regrease and rebuild?

Possibly, hard to tell just from the video. A lot of that comes down the subtlety of how it feels when you have the bike right in front of you. Have you ever cleaned out the freehub body before? It’s not terribly difficult if you have the appropriate tools and the correct grease to use after cleaning everything out. Really depends on whether the freehub body is actually serviceable. Some models/brands you can and it’s easy, others are not really designed that way and can be very difficult to reassemble correctly, they’re designed just to be replaced when they wear out. Do you have the specs for the rear wheel?
Do a Service on it anyways. Do a service every year. The most neglected part, next to the saddle clamp.
Many Brand New Free Hubs and Wheel Bearings come with too little grease and are way too tight on the pre-tension. Shimano is famous for this.
