Hi, when I’m out bikepacking, I can hardly shift the gears in the front. This would be because of my front bags folding the cables in front of the handlebar. Did anybody has the same issues and a solution how to solve this? Shifting the gears without the bags in front work as it should be…

Replace the cable/housing and route the new ones with enough slack to clear the bags. Alternatively, they make [spacers](https://www.bagsxbird.com/product-page/foam-spacer-blocks) and various other products like [this](https://us.restrap.com/products/bumper-bar) or [this](https://www.amazon.com/Yizhet-Handlebar-Extension-Lightweight-Speedometer/dp/B093K2C61H) that can get bags out of the way of cables.
I route my cables specifically to accommodate my bags. I really need to see things to work, so I build up the bike with all my bags, then run cable & housing. Sometimes I need to pull bags half off to get things routed, but it works out for the best.
I’ve currently built my salsa Fargo up with shifters on my aero-bars so cable runs are cleaner. Not for everyone, but this is what it took for me to be happy.
