  1. 21 speed Shimano Deore Lx.
In exceptional condition, with new chain & cassette.
Deore LX throughout; Cranks, Hubs, Brakes, Shifters*except for RH (Sunrace) but works well.
    Mavic M400 rims.
    Lightweight.
    Good smooth axles all round.

I’m sure the bike will be great. Isn’t everyone saying that gravel bikes are just the return of 90s mountain bikes anyway?

You’re in business my friend – this thing looks great. Only concern would be whether you’ve got rack mounts on the down tubes. Otherwise you’ll have to use bike packing bags and those fuckers are expensive

  4. Looks great! Would be nice if it had braze-ons/eyelets on the for for mounting a rack, but there are other ways to do it that work just fine. If it fits you well, this seems like a great bike for your purposes

  5. There’s a reason why this bike is still here 30+ years after being built. Probably last another 50 years if parts remain available. Probably will.

  6. Those handlebars are bullhorns and are incredibly uncomfortable, so especially for long rides when bikepacking, plan on replacing those with some riser bars so you’re not uncomfortable.

Source: just bought a bike with that exact same setup and loved the frame but desperately needed new bars

I believe I see bolts for mounting a rear rack, meaning you can choose between rack+panniers, or using non-rack bikepacking bags.

    Looks nice!
