So I tried doing a shifter cable job, I already knew that the fuse was shot, but I was unable to take it out without taking the derailleur apart.
Now I can’t put it back together, I more or less know where I have to put things, but I can’t figure out what I’m doing wrong.
I first installed the small seal (4) on the bolt head (1), I push that through the derailleur body, then put the spring (2) with the long point side (A) towards the derailleur.
But when I try putting the cap (3) and retaining clip, then a little tab that doesn’t match with the derailleurs body.
Honestly I’m just lost hahaha.

For ease of explanation, I’ll call the bent over hook on the chrome plate “tab” and the stop on the derailleur knuckle body “sharkfin”.
You need to get the short tail of the spring into the hole of the chrome plate while the chrome plate is far enough above the knuckle body that the tab will clear the sharkfin. The natural/unloaded position of the tab is probably 90 degrees or so clockwise from the sharkfin. You then rotate the chrome plate counter clockwise (which preloads the spring) and push the chrome plate toward the knuckle body once the tab is past the sharkfin. Once it’s squeezed together, the C-clip is installed.
If you have a bench vise, this operation is made much easier by clamping a 5mm hex into the vise to support the bolt as it gets assembled. Otherwise, the bolt commonly wants to push out when you’re trying to seat the plate.
