A while ago, I posted the [first picture](https://www.reddit.com/r/Bikeporn/comments/1e4vxft/2023_marinoni_piuma_columbus_spirit/) of my 2023 Marinoni Piuma with my decade-old Zonda C17 wheels. I love those wheels. Prior to them, I rode the Zonda C15 since 2009. However, last week I met a gentleman for a Marketplace transaction in-person, and we got talking for almost half an hour of our shared passion for cycling. He showed me a picture of his Cervelo S5 equipped with Bora Ultra carbon wheels (rim brakes). I shared with him my idea of giving carbon wheels a shot, and he convinced me by referring me to his bike mechanic that was able to order a pair of Bora WTO 45 for a good price. And so the idea became a reality. I fitted them with Continental Grand Prix 28″ clinchers. This is also the first time that I’m running 28″ tires, whereas before I was used to 25″ (though the Grand Prix 4000s II 25mm run closely to 28″), so I look forward in putting many, many hundreds of miles and enjoying this new setup.
