Second day trying them after months of practicing pickup bars.

I've gotten the confidence to let go of the bars and land due to high seat pinching for a couple of days now, and I'm trying to follow that one Spencer foresman method of landing without any hands after chucking the bars.

Any advice on overcoming the fear of throwing even though staying over the bike and pinching at a low speed is pretty safe? I'm making a goal to send at least one barspin a day so i can get used to it, but if there's anything else i need to work on, any help would be appreciated.

Any advice on hop bars?

  1. You are throwing the bars in a downward motion, also your hop isn’t enough. Try doing a t-bog, that is roughly how it should feel when you throw the bars.

try to practice the throwing motion more. Put your rear wheel against a wall and lock it in place by pushing you seat w legs. Then just get the front up and practice. Also try to throw earier and towards your body, you currently push down a lot. Do a hop and before the apex of the jump clamp (ether seat or cranks kinda) then on the apex throw backwards
EDIT: you have quite a high seat so clamp that with your thigs

    1. Practice throwing and catching the bars first. Back wheel against a wall, pegs resting on your shins while you hold the front end up, whatever. Practice getting quick throws & catches that you’re 100% confident with.

    2. Practice pull-up bars. Basically do a wheelie and throw /catch the bars before the front end finishes dropping. That will introduce a host of new problems- your weight bringing the bike down too fast (make sure to kinda hop as you wheelie to get your weight off the pedals), the bike falling out (pinch the seat between your calves to keep the bike in place as you throw), etc etc.

    3. Once you’ve got all that, should be fairly easy to tack it onto the end of a bunnyhop. The hard part was really step two.
