Hey, got this little scratch on my derailleur. I don‘t care about it, but I’m guessing that I‘d need to put some rust protection on it if it was steel, but not if it‘s aluminum. So, could anyone tell me what material this part is made of? Thanks a lot!

Aluminum, just leave it be.
Permanent black marker can help disguise small scratches like that
