My car recently became grounded and won’t be running for a while. Luckily I can work remote, so I decided I’d like to integrate biking into my life. Biked all the time as a teenager, so trying to get back to that. I’d generally run errands, go for longer bike rides, and maybe hit some gravel paths with it. Pretty much trying to find a bike to be my alternate car I can just use for almost everything. I live in Portland, OR.

I narrowed in on gravel bikes and hybrid bikes as what I’m looking for. Just a good jack of all trades essentially. Not trying to spend a lot, since this’ll be an entry level bike. However, I do want to take care of it for as long as I can and actually take the time to learn about maintenance, upgrades, accessories, etc. With that said I came across this Craigslist post of what I think might be perfect for me.

Just looking for some general advice on whether I should pull the trigger or not. As a side note, I’m 5’8 and 3/4 so just shy of 5’9. But with a medium frame I believe I’ll be fine with this size presuming it’s a medium frame due to the height recommendation the poster wrote.

Appreciate any tips and wisdom. 🙏

  1. Yes, $150-$190 is what I’d expect this bike to go for. Was probably $500 new. Would be much better than anything on the rack at Walmart

  2. Absolutely. IMO, any fully functional, rolling bicycle is worth $150.

This is an actual nice bike, plus rack and fenders.
