I just got my bike three days ago and I am not really confident about my endurance/stamina. I was stopping to catch by breath and let my knees rest for a while.(The whole trip took 5 hours)
Nice distance. Realistically, any ride you have fun/get something positive out of is a good ride.

As long as you had fun and got what you wanted out of your ride you should feel amazing! I’ve been riding and commuting for a few years now and to put it in perspective for you most of my rides (when I’m not commuting to work) are around 20ish miles give or take a few. You pedaled 38.5 miles. I did my second longest ride yesterday at 38.4 and it was such a workout. And you got it right man the key is to take breaks and stay hydrated/fed don’t worry about your time (unless you’re running out of daylight!) Happy riding!

Also the route/road I took was all ups and downs.
