In the process of stripping down all components, I’d asked about a week ago in the forum some opinions on paint/powdercoat.. but after assessing some very minor surface rust and paint blemishes, I’ve decided to just go with the good ol spit shine (forum favorite)
I think this 520 can be a sturdy tourer again. Bamboozled why this dedicated “touring” bike doesn’t have mid fork eyelets and my 750 Trek of the same year does. Oh well

I had a bunch of spare parts lying around last summer, found a good deal on a ’93 520 and built it up for touring. Almost sad to sell it, but it went to a guy who has done multiple transcontinental tours. He was super stoked about this bike.
