My 21 month son has just started going to a local bike park with a pump track and he’s even wanting to go on some of the really easy trails…he absolutely loves it. He’s on a strider bike but the tires are no-flat solid rubber type wheel but the grip on the dirt is not too great…looking to find him something with some more knob on the tires for the trail…

My daughter rode a stacyc 16” on trails when she was too big to be in a trailer and too small to pedal distance. We got a second battery and with both, we could go around 5 miles on the trails around us.

My three kids rode in pump track and kids trail from 2 to 4 using a wishbone design bike. Loved them!
I had a specialized hot walk off market place for $20. Great bike and lasted until we got onto a 14”. I’ve spent way too much money on kids bikes and my greatest advice is to buy used. They grow out of them so fast. I took the cranks off the commencal Ramones and let him learn to hand brake since he had the balance down and once I put him on pedals he literally took 15 minutes to figure it out and was riding around the block.
Edit: need to add a recommendation for prevelo bikes because they are solid bikes but also very light which is important when you’re that little

The kids ride shotgun balance bike is very nice. It can take 14” wheels and a rear disc brake as the kid gets older.
