I’d go with the vivid if only for the fact that it won’t randomly explode at any point for no particular reason

If strictly bike park, I’d go vivid coil. If using it on trail and bike park, I’d go Rockshox vivid ultimate air. The most coil like air shock I’ve ridden, both at the bike park and on trail. Take out the tokens for a linear coil like feel, or put em back in for a progressive response & more playfulness + it’s got hydraulic bottom out resistance. Best air shock I’ve ridden but ymmv.

Have you looked at Cane Creek?

Fox is dogshit these days, I’d personally avoid at all cost. Coil is the way to go. Get an Ohlins.

I ride coil setup but I do like air shocks for jumping you get more pop off the lip

I’ve got a vivid ultimate on my Megatower. It’s a good shock. Nothing special. It works. Good adjustments. Reliable so far. As always with coil it took me a while to get the right spring rate (as I gained and lost a bunch of weight over the last year) and the RS springs don’t always come in ideal increments. It’s a good enough shock I’m not at all inclined to upgrade.

For park riding, a coil is the obvious choice

Depends what you’re doing with the bike. If you’re more into enduro/dh/park stuff I’d go with the coil. Much better feel on the jumps and big hits.
If you’re pedaling and it’s a more “all-around” bike I’d go air. Climb switch and just can be more all around than the coil.
I switched over to coil on my park/enduro bike and probably will always go coil.

The Fox. But you might like coil better. I have that same X2 on my Enduro and it is a good one. I never really liked rockshox anything but that’s just like my opinion man.

Vivid. The X2 is shorty and breaks all the time. If you want to have a broken suspension all the time get the fox.
