For what it's worth, the commentators in the German broadcast were able to tell who everybody was and what each scene was supposed to mean. So it's more on the broadcast you watched than the organizers if it was confusing for you.

Ok I told my wife when we were watching that it was Charon and the three kids were paying the Olympic torch as fee to boat down the river sienne/Styx. Kind of a tribute to Greece myth as they are the creators of the Olympics. Then the broadcast starts telling me some shit about phantom of the opera..I got so confused and thought I was wrong.

The parade of "athletes" (not all were athletes- includes team officials) was silly. Perhaps the Winter Olympics parade of athletes can happen at the North Pole with Santa Claus and Rudolph as the parade Marshalls. Nora has the ear for franรงais. Please pursue it.

Pianist guy was definitely lip syncing (finger tip syncing)? We would have heard to rain drops on the piano lid through the mics inside the piano if the mics had been live. He also had in ear monitors in so he could play along with the audio which he wouldnโt have needed if he was playing live. He would have heard the piano just fine since there were no other musicians playing.
It feels like they focused too much on fashion, singing, and dancing, and too little on sports. They could have drawn more parallels with the 1924 Olympics, new sports, sports legends… Rain also didn't help. It wasn't bad, but London 2012 is still my favorite

Distasteful and disgusting opening ceremony of the Olympics. That had nothing to do with diversity. If I want to see that I would go to an after party show not appropriate for families. Celine Dion was the only show respectful for the audience and the athletes.

Enjoyed this way more than I did the actual ceremony! Not to say I thought the ceremony was bad. I just felt lost at times and you three perfectly described what I was feeling and how things may have been done differently or better. I'm really looking forward to consuming all the episodes I can of this series and appreciate all the hard work that goes in ๐
