    Is this too much to bring on 60-100km rides? Around three times a week.

      I’d switch to TPU tubes. They save so much space in the saddle bag and the chinese ones (RideNow) aren’t even expensive.

      That seems a little excessive. I usually carry one tube, so be tyre lever, a few patches, a multi-tool, and a mini-pump – as well as some rubber gloves, and a cable tie.

      I’d definitely lose a few levers and probably a tube each – especially if you’re together it’s very unlikely you’d need double.

      Depends where you live. But I take 1 tpu tube, one co2, a pump for anything longer than 50km (and if nobody else is taking a pump) a multitool and couple of bacon strips. Why take tirelevers if you already have a decent multitool?

      I’m not fixing more than two punctures. If the hole doesn’t seal, I’ll put a tube in. But if had to patch it? I’d rather take the next train home. But I understand that not everyone lives where they can have access to transport that easily.

      But I do carry almost as much for my mountain bike.

      Edit: Of course this hobby and also the tools can get expensive. It’s all the question of time and value. If I am already riding, I rather just ride and If I can’t ride, I rather do something else then just fixing a tube at the side of the road. (I had my fair share)

      For 60/100km, IMO, Kind of overkill to have 2 tubes per bag; but if it fits…

      some people bring nitrile gloves (1 pair)

      I carry 1 tube, 2 tire levers, small pump and 1 c02 cartridge/adapter (because they were fashionable a couple of years ago)

      (knock on wood, I’ve only had 2 punctures in 6 years and both of them were less than 30 minutes walk back home.)

      Thanks all, I’ve decided to remove one tube each and just leave 2 tyre levers each.

      Flippin’ heck. I only bring one spare tube, levers and a small hand pump. Even for 200k rides.

      I do one tube, one patch, 2 CO2, a pump, multitool w. Chai splitter and a quick link.

      This seems like overkill.

      If you are riding together, split the carry. You don’t need to carry 6 tire levers.

      Also, unless you are on tubeless, you don’t need the CO2. Just one pump is fine.

      Also, carry TPU tubes instead of butyl. They are like a quarter of the size and weight. Check out RideNow on Aliexpress. We sell those in our shop and they are great. This will free up space for food.

      Are those quick links? Good. Do you have a chain breaker? What about a valve core tool? Also, make sure your multitool has a spoke wrench that works on your bikes. If you are really worried, you could carry spare cables.

      If I had to add something, I’d say cash and a tire boot. Cash is really handy. I usually care $20 in smaller bills in my saddle bag. You never know when you might really need it. If anything, you can use it to pay another cyclist back for lending you something or helping you on the side of the road. Also, if you are riding in remote areas, you might run into a cash only establishment. Cash is king and its good to have.

      Lastly, 4 tubes is nuts, especially if you have patches. There is almost no scenario where you’ll be blowing through 4 tubes, you know? If you are, something else is horribly wrong and you need to check your tire.

      I’d have the same number of CO2s as tubes.

      I would pack both kits the same. The last thing one wants to do is to go riding solo a month from now and realize they need two seat bags to fix a flat.

      Two tubes+patches is fine. I used to be a one tube/co2 guy, and then I moved to the desert. Now I carry 3.

      Ditch the butyl tubes. Get something like Tubolito and this won’t be so gnarly…

      2 bags? Yes that’s too much, 1 would be enough 🙂 and why bring a pump and 3 co2 cartridges? I always just bring a pump and 1 inner tube. Why bring patches and tubes? And Bring 1 of the tools you can share, no need to have doubles 🙂

      My first longer ride was from a ferry across an island on a well kept gravel trail 70km.

      lol I took 26 700c and 29 inch tubes, hand pump, 3 co2 cartridges and adapters, levers, two multi tools, an extra controller (e-bikes) , 2 ounces of sealant, valve core tool, and two flat cone wrenches, and an adjustable wrench.

      Seriously.

      But the weight was nothing compared to the two extra batteries for our two e-bikes at least.

      It probably is a bit much but if it helps your peace of mind, so what? You’re not setting any records, you’re riding for fun and fitness (presumably). The small amount of added weight is probably hardly noticeable.

      1 pump (share), one small tube repair (patch and vulcanizing solution) kit each, 1 spare tube each, 2 tire levers each. 1 small multi tool share. A pair of tweezers (internal frame cables!) Is all you need for a day out.

      Less is more. Learn how to use the vulcanizing solution to repair tubes with some practice on a tube, you can repair a tube several times before replacing it providing the hole is not too large or too close to the valve stem. The self adhesive scab healing type are not as reliable.

      If you want to get over your hoarding then ask yourself every-time you ride with all this kit, how much did I need?!

      With a tube and a repair kit you can solve two punctures easily and a blow out at worst. A tire patch is also a useful hack just in case you get a gaping hole in tire as it weighs nothing. A few cable ties can get you out of hassle as well for little weight.

      Without more information it seems a little excessive, but I guess it also depends how remote your routes are. If you’re riding in areas where you can’t get help at all I guess it’s better to be safe.

      Buy some tpu’s from aliexpress they weigh a fraction and are much smaller. And why carry a pump and co2

      Go tubeless…
      2 c02’s, inflator, plugs, multi tool with chain tool and a quick link. Could pack a tube as a real back up.

      I carry Allen keys a chain breaker, 5 sets of quick links, 30 self adhesive patches, a pump and my 2 locks. I would rather be safe than sorry lmfao.

      Haven’t had a flat once since I changed to gp5000 and 28 mm tyres. I now ride 5-6bar depending on surface and stuff doesn’t puncture as often.

      last two long rides i had and was missing two things which i think was important:
      something to true your which in case it starts wiggle
      braking cable

      replace every tube but one with a patch kit. by the way those btwin levers are really good, its my saving grace for seating difficult tires

      I run tubeless tires so I bring 2 tubes, but they are TPU (Tubilito). You have a pump and patches so maybe less co2. The multi tool seems excessive, in the sense it has more on than you need. Only other things I carry are Wolf Tooth chain tool, AXS battery (not relevant for some) and a needle, thimble and dental floss to sew up cuts in tires (I’ve only ever used it for my shorts after a crash that would have left me “exposed “).

      Honestly the distance is mostly irrelevant to me, I have my saddle bag packed and don’t change it for different rides. As soon as I’m beyond walking distance I want to make sure I’ve got as many circumstances covered as possible so I carry:

      2 inner tubes (TPU, so nice and compact), 2 tyre levers, 2 CO2 canisters (plus head), a multi tool (with chain breaker), spare quick links, stick on tube patches, valve stem extenders, a couple of cable ties, and a pair of nitrile gloves. All fits into a saddle bag I think slightly smaller than those, and should fix any roadside issue I’ve yet come across.

      I carry 3x tubolito(3x 24grams) spare tube 2co2 multitool and co2 adapter and one tyre lever
      My saddle bag is 1/4 size of yours and got same things in it. Try tubolito they are expensive but well worth

      One lever, one tube, two c02 cannisters, one valve attachment for cannister, smaller multi tool than you’re showing here, $20 cash, one rubber glove.
