I bought this Walmart bike for my 9 year old son this week and I’m trying to remove the pedals to make a balance bike. There is no place for an Alan wrench like I’ve seen on other videos. I have a regular wrench 🔧 that fits in the groove but it’s not budging. I know the left one is threaded reverse so I’m turning it clockwise. Are these pedals not suppose to come off due to the type?
Any help is appreciated! I’m guessing it’s the leverage that I just can’t seem to achieve but wanted to check before I go through any more trouble if these are just not suppose to come off. Thanks!

An adjustable wrench, or 15mm combo wrench will work. At the crank arm the pedal axle is basically a two sided 15mm bolt. Also, the left, non-drive, side is reverse threaded so clockwise to loosen.
Pedal Spanner. Or just normal spanner which will fit by the grooved part where the pedal part meets the crank arm. There’s two flat edges there which you’ll need to use the spanner with. Bear in mind the left hand side is reverse threaded, thus you’ll need to keep this in mind.
15mm cone wrench, turn the wrench towards the back of the bike to take off and turn towards the front of the bike to put on pedals
One thing you can try is put a little WD-40 on the threads if you notice any rust has formed. You can also try to apply torque with your foot, put the ball of your foot on the pedal and apply a load with the heel, ive found this to be the easiest way to change pedals.
Put the bike on the ground and have someone hold it upright. Take the pedal you want to remove, and rotate it to the bottom of the pedal stroke. Put wrench on the flat spot of the pedal spindle, with the wrench handle pointing up. Whack handle toward the back of the bike using the palm of your hand. A couple good strikes and it should break loose.

That video really helped me, use the wrench that fits, and use it as he demonstrates with the allen key.
Put a lil penetrating oil on the reverse side and let it sink in to the threads, it’ll come off easily enough.
