i’m wanting to buy anew shock for my bike but i’m curious to see if it would fit? i really do not know how the setup of them work could someone explain what size shock id need or if this would work?

Your bike manufacturer should list the eye-to-eye and travel dimensions for the frame. Make sure to buy a shock with the same dimensions.
If it’s for the Vitus pictured, it will not work. The Sommet takes a 205×62.5 mm shock with a trunnion mount
